Dr. Clayton E. Davis
Elder Clayton Edward Davis accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as a teen, December 1974, and received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost shortly thereafter. He is “Third Generation COGIC” and preached his first sermon, at age 18, on Friday, February 21, 1975, entitled “The Power of God.” Elder Davis was ordained under the leadership of the late Bishop R. E. Woodard, Sr., April 1980, and has served in many Christian educational and leadership capacities. He was appointed District Superintendent, June 1992, under the leadership of the late Bishop A. LaDell Thomas, Sr., and served on the Jurisdictional Ordination Board. He has served also as Coordinator for an Interdenominational Ministerial Brotherhood Alliance and organized a citywide march, entitled “Save Our Children.” He also tenured 4 years of instructions for the Charles Harrison Mason Bible College – under leadership of the late Dr. Allen J. Hines. Prior to Elder Davis’ tenure as a part-time/full-time pastor, he exercised his spiritual ministry of evangelism 15 years. Elder Davis has over 30 years’ experience as an evangelist; many souls have come to Christ through his ministry.
Elder Davis is presently an educator in the Garland Independent School District. He has over 14 years teaching experience and two years’ experience as an assistant principal in public schools. He prefers teaching Language Arts and Mathematics, but he is Texas Certified (4-8) and presently teaches mathematics. Elder Davis professional accomplishments include Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership, Master of Education Administration, Master of Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science in Sociology. He writes Christian literature, writes and organizes workshop manuals, poetry, and policy & procedures manuals. He is a public speaker, praise and worshiper, pastor, and mentor for young ministers and men.
Elder Davis passions include soul-winning, expository preaching, exegetical Bible study, and Bible research. He is an awesome Bible teacher, scholar, preacher, and motivator. Elder Davis is married to the lovely Evangelist Missionary Kasandra Smith Davis. They have five children and six grandchildren. His hobbies are cooking, fishing, and playing basketball.
